What a great day, thank you! 14 volunteers came together to pick up 1,100 pounds of garbage!
Kitsap’s Department of Human Services, Public Health District, and the Parks Department are coordinating sincere efforts to take care of people living unsheltered in our neighborhoods and maintain a clean environment. This team has identified a large project at Veterans Memorial Park in Port Orchard and we are only too eager to help out.
The status of the people living in the park has been in a state of constant flux and they have been hard to make contact with. Our priority going on on August 4th will be to clean up litter and, with any luck, meet some people, establish relationships, and discover some needs that we can start working to meet.
Come join us for a couple hours of fun, dirty work to leave our environment a little cleaner and share a little dignity and humanity with our neighbors!
