8/9/2024 - One of our crew members had a bunch of early plums to hand out, as well as ice cold lemonade and both were well received and snapped right up. We've been slowly planning a block party and have picked a date! We're currently aiming for September 21st to have a block party at our South location, Barton, and plan to have home cooked food, activities, and music. Gotta live up to that party name! Would love to see you there, more details will be forthcoming! If you stop by, we'll also have our pins available for you to pick up as a thank you for your support.

8/27/2024 - Last week, we saw our now usual number of 60-70 folks and as we're gearing up today to do distro, we have several folks out of town or have other reasons that they won't be at distro, but it's super important to us that all reasons are good reasons and that folks should only be involved because they want to be and when they have the capacity to do so in a sustainable way. Let's create hope together.

9/5/2024 - Thankfully, this summer has also seen a new wave of enthusiastic neighbors plugging in and getting involved which has given us a big people-power boost. Coupling that with the support of our ongoing community partners such as Northwest Hospitality, West Seattle Food Bank, Diaspora Cafe (previously known as Lect's Soups), City Fruit, Burger Planet, and the ongoing financial support that we get from all of you, has allowed us to stay on our A-game. Still, there is a prevailing feeling that we are currently running up against the limitations of our capacity in our current formation. This can be a disheartening feeling because who doesn't want to do more, and do better and with more resources? Many of our project's core values however intend to serve as something of a bulwark against that dynamic and that is our commitment to the hyperlocal scale, our commitment to each other to avoid collective total burnout, and our commitment to consistency. This helps us to reject the socially-dominant and inevitably internalized logic of permanent growth as a mandate that has been stomped into all of us by society.
