July 2024 Newsletter

We were running a little late with the newsletter this month because we have been busy! Here are just a few things we have we have been up to:

  • Our mobile closet was out and about - visiting the Kitsap Recovery Center in Port Orchard and the free community dinner hosted by Summit Ave Presbyterian in Bremerton.

  • Our amazing volunteers connected with 17 people at their residences to provide supplies and services directly.

  • We also brought two sleeping bags and blankets to a couple of ladies who had some of their belongings stolen - they've been on housing lists for years - sober, employed, and constantly failed by their community. They deserve so much more than what we're giving them but it's good to have something to provide when we can.

  • We helped gather household supplies for a family of four that is finally moving into housing after 2 years of homelessness.

As followers and supporters of NWH, thank you for contributing to healthier communities that don't turn a blind eye to our neighbors!

We got a big donation of clothes the other day from a generous neighbor. Volunteers Molly, Jenn, and Maggie spent a bunch of hours sorting, washing, and inventorying all these items so that we could get them added to the NW Hospitality Mobile Closet. Looking forward to getting these items distributed to our neighbors in need.

⬆️ We say “so far” because sometimes there is a little bit of a delay in getting all of our impact logged. Volunteers prioritize helping folks out and responding to urgent requests.
