February 2024 Newsletter

The NWH Spring Benefit is right around the corner and we very excited! This is shaping up to be such a fun event. There are still a few tickets left and we would love to see you there.

We decided to put our silent auction online this year, so you can get a jump start on cruising the donated items. New items are still being added, so check back often! Check it out here: https://nwhospitality.rallyup.com/spring24

Our Animal Rescue, Outreach, and Rehab (AROR) program is run by Pam Cone, a member of Northwest Hospitality’s Board of Directors. Pam and the AROR team work with unhoused people to help them care for their pets in a number of ways, such as providing food and taking pets to vet appointments when needed.

Shadow’s Story:

Pam is currently taking care of Shadow, a cat she first met when she and the AROR team were working with residents of a local encampment. Pam took Shadow to the vet when his owners were unable to. Since Pam first met Shadow, he has had many different owners and locations. When he was found two cities away without anyone to take care of him, his microchip information helped get him back to Pam, who is caring for him now.

Pam says Shadow is healthy, friendly, and safe. His original owners are unable to take care of him, and he is looking for a new home. He is available for adoption!

If you are interested in adopting Shadow, contact Pam at pcone10@gmail.com.

If you or someone you know needs services or supplies for a pet, fill out a form here or call Pam: 888-222-5240 x4 then dial 2

Our awesome volunteers were out in force on a chilly Saturday in Bremerton, to help with some Environmental Hospitality. 4,100 lbs of trash bagged and taken to the dump! There's still a job to do there, but it looks much better.
Folks living at this site were thrilled and grateful for the cleanup. They moved into this site after being swept from other locations around south Kitsap. Since they arrived, they have worked to clean the area of litter that had already been dumped there and had been making slow progress but getting a bunch of helping hands out there really made a difference. We'll continue working with them to clean and maintain their area while they connect with housing resources. Another clean-up at this site is coming up March 9, 2024.
Thank all you volunteers for your hard work and compassion!

Thank you to everyone who supports our work of helping those in our community that are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing. We couldn’t do any of this important work without your support.
