New Volunteer Page & Opportunities

2019 is going to be a great year for NWH Volunteers. In addition to the established and expanding hospitality kit assembly and distribution options, NWH’s newer programs are going to introduce a plethora of ways to get involved in your community.

Environmental Hospitality volunteer opportunities will include, but only be limited by our own imaginations, road and highway adoption programs and organized cleanup events where volunteers will extend their litter-picking-up expertise to homeless encampment areas. We have had one 2-mile stretch of roadway adopted in Port Orchard for the past year and our first cleanup event is scheduled for 1/19/2019 in Bremerton. Sign up for this event here (at the bottom of the page)!

Special Projects will allow volunteers to directly address the needs of our neighbors. We will be working with “Affiliates,” like the Bremerton Homeless Community Coalition, and individuals who identify needs in our community and are looking for some help to take care of them. If a neighbor’s cars breaks down or they need a space heater or assistance to afford their prescriptions, our volunteers can hold specific fundraisers for any need and we’ll be able to address it immediately and directly. We will also have a general Special Projects fund to help take care of projects quickly and effectively; make donations to this fund here to support future Special Projects.

Get your friends and family to link their Fred Meyer Rewards cards to Northwest Hospitality and Fred Meyer will donate portions of their purchases directly to our programs! Our ID number is AX001 but you can also just search for Northwest Hospitality.

Amazon Smile is also a great tool for donating without spending any additional $. Simply do your shopping at smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase to NWH!
