Thank you for helping with this project! During this volunteer work party, we will be cleaning up the property surrounding a building, newly acquired by Kitsap County, that is being developed to provide emergency housing and supportive services in South Kitsap. To help make the best use of your time and ensure volunteers are protected, please see the notes and safety precautions below.
Here are a few notes about the day:
Parking is available at the facility
All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older
We have identified different tasks for a variety of skill levels. All work will be done outdoors.
Volunteers will work in small groups of 1-5 people in each area with physical distancing maintained.
Water and snacks will be provided.
Restroom facilities will be available.
Check In: 9:00 AM
All volunteers will be asked to sign in at 9:00 am
A safety briefing w/ current COVID guidelines will be given at 9:15 am
Volunteers must wear boots, protective gloves, and eye protection. Sunscreen, hats are recommended.
Volunteers should bring rakes, shovels, gardening tools, weed whackers, wheelbarrows, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, and power tools for dismantling an old wooden sign and wood swing set.
All battery-operated tools should be fully charged the night before.
Only operate tools you are familiar with and comfortable using.
No electric plug-in tools
No sharing of tools or equipment.
Those using power tools/equipment will be cleared by Safety Officer Tim Blair
