7/26/2020 Post-Cleanup Debrief:
What a fantastic group of volunteers and beautiful area to work. 15 dedicated, wonderful volunteers cleared over 1,600 pounds of trash out of the Blackjack Creek trail, conquering a beast of a hill in the process. We did not meet any residents to work with but the area is pristine and gorgeous again. I understand that there is one more area further down the trail and across the river that still needs attention and there may be plans in the works to get that taken care of in the near future.Huge thanks to everybody who made this happen, great work!
Come join us for a couple of fun, dirty hours that will leave our environment a little cleaner and share a little dignity and humanity with our neighbors! Aaron James Hilliard flagged this site for us on Facebook and we’re excited to take care of business.
Kitsap’s Solid Waste Division is even already planning a follow-up event to fix up the bridge and continue cleaning the area!
