POSTPONED until spring 2024 - new date tbd

We had a goal to sell around 100 tickets and as of 10/30 we had sold 35 tickets despite sending over 1,000 emails, making phone calls, countless social media posts, and even some paid marketing efforts. Needing to postpone is obviously a major disappointment but we are looking forward to trying again this Spring. We are currently looking into a new date, probably still at Leif Erikson but that will depend on their availability, and will be in touch as soon as possible with updates.

Music by Karin Kajita

Karin is a jazz and classical pianist and composer. She received her music degrees from the University of Washington. She received two Milnor Roberts awards, two Bainbridge Music and Arts awards and an Artist's Support grant from the Jack Straw Cultural Center. She received a Golden Key first place national award for her composition “Confluence” and an invitation to play in a festival in Vienna.

Karin plays many styles including jazz, latin, show tunes, tango, ragtime, novelty and classical. She knows approximately 1000 tunes by heart.

Karin has worked in Japan, Europe, Seattle and around the US. She currently plays at 1201 3rd Avenue Tower in downtown Seattle, at Kelnero in Edmonds and with the Kevin McCarthy Trio in Ballard. She is a regular at the Royal Room in their series “Piano Starts Here” which features the work of famous jazz composers.
