Today is the United Way of Kitsap County’s big Day of Caring!
Help us assembly hospitality kits that will be distributed to people in need throughout our neighborhoods. Northwest Hospitality will provide supplies and instructions for the assembly of hospitality kits to be distributed by community members to people in need. The kits contain health and hygiene essentials as well as a locally curated resource list designed to encourage people to find additional support services in the area.
This will be a very fun, relaxed assembly line project and participants are encouraged to take kits home with them to distribute in their own neighborhoods as needed. Volunteer registration for the Day of Caring will open on May 2nd and we’ll email volunteers that link when it’s available.
We will gather at the Kitsap Sun Pavilion for all Day of Caring volunteers to check in at 7:30am, enjoy a light continental breakfast, pick up t-shirts, boxed lunches, water, enjoy a bit of FUN, draw the winners for Tacoma Rainier's tickets, then disburse to the project sites around 8:15amish.
We are also coordinating a litter pickup event for this day so, depending on the type of service you are most interested in doing, we’ve got a great opportunity for you :)
