Real talk.. if you don't want to hear it... keep scrolling..

Keeping me up tonight. Most of you know what I choose to do with my free time.

Here's I what I run into..

Almost NOBODY tells me directly what I do is wrong.

Indirectly, they talk to me about people deciding to be homeless (it happens, but not fucking often!)

They also talk about crime with the homeless...well...sure. if you have nothing...you'll steal to eat. It had been my experience that this is not the norm, though it would be understandable.

These people need mental help, drug counciling etc... YES!!

What these people need most...is US. As one who has hit the streets for years now... most nobody WANTS to be there (there are a couple exceptions. ..I'd give it a 1% at best from my experience). What matters it seems, is medical bills and limitations, having family that can support them. Having people who can support them through hard stuff, like being a veteran with PTSD (horribly common). People also don't believe me when I tell them many of the houseless I've met WORK.

I stay nice when people talk to me about why we have a homeless problem, even when they say some ignorant shit.

Sometimes I just want to scream. You don't F'N know!! Shut up and help! That's the only real and viable response!
