April 2023 Newsletter

Northwest Hospitality’s programs allow us to serve our vulnerable and unhoused neighbors in a variety of ways. This month, we are highlighting our Hospitality Kits.

The hospitality kit program aims to connect people in need with necessary supplies and resources, while encouraging community involvement and outreach.

What’s in the kits?
Hospitality kits include food, water, basic first aid supplies, and hygiene supplies like soap, wipes, toothbrushes, etc. Each kit also includes a list of resources available in the area where kits are distributed. Northwest Hospitality can also provide accessory kits with pet supplies or menstrual products if needed.

Who assembles the kits?
Kits are assembled by community groups, organizations, or businesses that want to help homeless people in their area. In most cases, the kits are distributed by the same community members that assembled the kits.

How it helps:
The supplies in the kits help people in need meet their basic, short-term needs.

The locally curated resource list in the kit makes sure recipients of the kit have access to resources in their area that can help with larger, long-term needs.

Community groups and organizations engage in a simple but meaningful outreach project by assembling and distributing the kits to unhoused people in their area.

Want to get involved?
If you/your organization would like to assemble and distribute hospitality kits, contact info@nwhospitality.org to discuss details and supplies.

Vehicle Repairs:

In 2020, NWH started providing vehicle repair services to people living in their cars, vans, and RVs. These services range from $20 for some fluid, all the way up to a repair that was a little over $6,000.

We haven't always been able to help but this is a MASSIVELY impactful and appreciated outreach, allowing people to keep or get new employment, make doctor’s appointments, and connect with other resources. In addition to all that, helping people get insured and replacing worn out brakes, tires, and addressing other vehicle maintenance issues keeps us ALL safer on the roads. Please donate today if you can so we can continue connecting with more people and making our community safer.

But as you can see from the graph, providing these repairs requires a lot of funds. If you are interested in donating to vehicle repairs we would be SO appreciative!!

Thank you to everyone who supports our work of helping those in our community that are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing. We couldn’t do any of this important work without your support.
